Leigh ‘Leigh-thal’ Wooden Defeats Josh ‘The Leeds Warrior’ Warrington

In the main event, former two-time WBA featherweight champion Leigh “Leigh-thal” Wood, 29-4 (17 KOs), of Gedling, Nottinghamshire, defeated former two-time IBF featherweight champion Josh “The Leeds Warrior” Warrington, 32-5-1 (8 KOs), of Leeds, Yorkshire, over 12 rounds by unanimous decision.

Wood had previously stopped Warrington in June 2023 and entered the rematch following a stoppage win in May 2025. Warrington, who had suffered three losses in recent fights before winning his last outing, was looking to reverse the earlier result.

The opening round featured frequent clinching, with Wood holding a slight edge. In the second round, Warrington landed a left hook that drew blood from Wood’s nose, giving Warrington a strong round. Wood responded in the third, outlanding Warrington while fighting in a southpaw stance with his hands held low.

Warrington pressed forward in the fourth, though Wood tied him up effectively. In the closing seconds, Wood landed a solid left to the chin that briefly rocked Warrington. Wood’s faster hands carried him through the fifth and sixth rounds.

In the seventh round, Warrington hurt Wood with a right hand and reopened the bleeding from Wood’s nose. Warrington continued to target Wood’s face in the eighth and ninth, leaving Wood with a bloodied nose and a small cut under his right eye.

The fight remained competitive in the tenth, with Warrington attempting to pressure Wood along the ropes, though Wood neutralized much of the attack by tying him up. Wood regained control in the eleventh, using movement and timing to limit Warrington’s offense.

Entering the final round needing a stoppage, Warrington pushed forward aggressively but was unable to land cleanly enough to change the outcome. Although Wood’s face showed the effects of the fight, the judges favored his cleaner and more consistent work.

The scores were 119-109, 119-110, and 117-111 in favor of Wood. Referee Marc Bates officiated.

Co-Feature

In the co-feature, BBBofC British and Commonwealth super welterweight champion Ishmael Davis, 15-4 (6 KOs), of Leeds, lost a majority decision to BBBofC English champion Bilal Fawaz, 11-1-1 (3 KOs), of Lagos, Nigeria, now based in London, over 12 rounds.

Davis controlled much of the early action, switching stances and outlanding Fawaz. Fawaz gradually gained momentum, applying steady pressure and landing more effectively in the later rounds. The fight shifted in Fawaz’s favor down the stretch as he appeared fresher and more active.

The scores were 114-114, 115-113, and 115-114 in favor of Fawaz.

Sandy Ryan Wins Majority Decision

Former WBO welterweight champion Sandy Ryan, 9-3-1 (3 KOs), of Derby, UK, won a majority decision over Karla Zamora, 12-10-2 (4 KOs), of Chimalhuacan, Mexico, over ten two-minute rounds to claim the vacant WBC World super lightweight title.

Zamora applied steady pressure early, outworking Ryan in the opening rounds. Ryan responded in the middle rounds, landing cleaner counters and drawing blood from Zamora’s nose. The fight remained competitive throughout, with Zamora maintaining a high work rate and Ryan landing the more precise shots.

The scores were 95-95, 97-93, and 97-93 in favor of Ryan.

Undercard Results

Tiah Mai Ayton, 5-0 (4 KOs), of Bristol, defeated Catherine Tacone Ramos, 9-4-1 (2 KOs), over eight rounds by referee score of 77-75.

Molly McCann, 3-0 (1 KO), of London, defeated Beata Dudek, 7-9 (4 KOs), over six rounds. Referee Peter McCormick scored it 60-45.

Heavyweight Leo Atang, 5-0 (5 KOs), of York, stopped Dan Garber, 11-7 (2 KOs), at 1:02 of the first round.

Heavyweight Dave Allen, 25-8-2 (20 KOs), of Conisbrough, stopped Karim Berredjem, 12-11 (3 KOs), at 0:57 of the first round.

Joe Howarth, 15-2 (4 KOs), of Wigan, defeated Dan Booth, 6-19 (3 KOs), over four rounds. Referee Peter McCormick scored it 40-36.
