Joshua’s Energy Will Destroy Jake Paul On December 19

Promoter Eddie Hearn says that when Anthony Joshua hits Jake Paul with his “heavy artillery,” it’s going to be all over for him. He’s going to be knocked out badly in their fight on December 19th.

Joshua-Paul will meet on Netflix at the Kaseya Center in Miami in eight days. The eight-round fight will show whether the 36-year-old Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) has anything left after a brutal knockout in his last bout in 2024. He’s had a good 15-month rest since that terrible night against Daniel Dubois.

Hearn’s Nervous Energy

“He will find out all about levels and power and the danger of taking a fight like this,” said promoter Eddie Hearn to iFL TV about what Jake Paul is up against in fighting Anthony Joshua. “And he’s going to get viciously knocked out.

Hearn had a nervous, jittery look in his eyes that didn’t match the brave words that he was saying about Joshua. It was a classic look of someone who isn’t certain of the outcome. He’s so easy to read. It was like Hearn was thinking, ‘I hope AJ can win. I just don’t know. If Jake hits him clean, it’s over. How can bring him back? I already tried a four-fight rebuild. A lot of good that did. He got plowed by Dubois straightaway.’

“The only thing is, how bad is he going to get knocked out. It probably comes down to a little bit of luck. He needs to get lucky to nothing to land too clean. The biggest result for Jake Paul right now is that he gets away with it by not getting hit too flush because the artillery will be heavy,” said Hearn.

Joshua’s Chin Question

If Jake gets inside on Joshua in the first round, it may be over for AJ because he’s going to get hit with one of the 40mm grenades that will explode on him. Given how Joshua was knocked down in rounds 1, 3, 4, and 5 in his last fight against Daniel Dubois in 2024, there could be remnants of that still echoing in his head.

Coming back from that devastation straight into a fight against the knockout artist Paul, it’s got bad written all over it for AJ.

“Don’t worry about anybody holding back, ‘Oh, it’s Jake Paul. Let’s not take it too.’ No, we’re going in there locked and loaded with the heaviest artillery in the heavyweight division that will be unleashed on Jake Paul in Miami. And it’ll be unleashed sharp, fast, hard on his chin. When it gets landed clean, he ain’t getting up, and the fight is over, and he’s getting knocked out bad,” said Hearn.

Career Stakes for AJ

For Hearn’s sake, he’d better hope that Joshua gets through this fight without getting knocked out again. I don’t think he’ll be able to deal with all the laughter afterward from AJ getting imploded by Paul like a submarine that has reached crush depths in the ocean.

There will be so many fans calling for Joshua’s retirement. I’m just wondering how Hearn will deal with all of this, seeing his flagship fighter get finished off by a non-heavyweight.
