The actor, best known for the hit teen drama series Dawson’s Creek, has died at the age of 48 after revealing that he had bowel cancer. His roles also includes Rules of Attraction, Pose and Varsity Blues. ‘Our beloved James David Van Der Beek passed peacefully this morning,’ read a statement. ‘He met his final days with courage, faith and grace.’
