Jacob Bank didn’t just beat William Scull on Saturday night. He wore him down, dropped him repeatedly, and stopped him late in the 12th, turning a cautious start into a one-sided finish to retain the WBO Global super middleweight title.

The bout, staged at Sydbank Arena, began slowly. The early rounds were measured and short on action, with both fighters probing and neither committing to sustained exchanges. Scull’s experience showed early, but it did little to separate him on the cards.

That changed in the sixth round. Bank broke through with pressure and timing, scoring two knockdowns that shifted the fight decisively. From that point on, Scull struggled to reset. His output dropped, his movement slowed, and he absorbed long stretches of unanswered work.

Bank stayed disciplined. He did not rush the finish, instead continuing to push Scull back, mixing shots and forcing exchanges at a pace Scull could no longer manage. Additional knockdowns followed as the rounds wore on, with Scull spending more time reacting than initiating.

The end came late. With roughly 20 seconds remaining in the twelfth round, Bank dropped Scull again, prompting the referee to stop the contest. The stoppage capped a fight that had tilted heavily in Bank’s favour after the midpoint.

Bank improved to 18-0 with 10 knockouts and retained his regional title. The win carried weight given Scull’s background, including a previous 12-round effort against Canelo Alvarez. This time, durability was not enough. Bank’s youth and sustained pressure decided the fight.

For Bank, it was a clear step forward. He handled a higher level of opposition, adjusted after a slow start, and closed decisively. For Scull, now 23-2, the night exposed limits once he was forced to fight at a tempo he could not control.
