Elon Musk will settle a $128 million lawsuit with four Twitter executives whom he fired after taking over the company in 2022.
One of Muskโs first moves upon buying Twitter was to fire CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal, and top lawyers Sean Edgett and Vijaya Gadde. The four executives never received severance payments, which they claim is because they tried to hold Musk to his $44 billion commitment when he tried to back out of buying the company. The lawsuit even quotes Walter Isaacsonโs biography of Musk, which quotes him as saying that he would โhunt every single oneโ of Twitterโs C-suite โtill the day they die.โ
While a court filing confirms that the parties have reached a settlement, itโs not yet clear what the terms of that settlement are.
Itโs not just these executives who have sued Musk for severance payments. Musk recently settled a class action lawsuit concerning 6,000 laid-off Twitter employees. Many of these former Twitter staff complained that they received incomplete severance payments or did not receive severance payments at all.
