Josephine Baker within the highlight at Bobino's Paris theatre

Josephine Baker was the first Black female superstar. In the 1920s, she took Paris by storm with her exuberant dance performances; she was also a Resistance fighter in World War II and a civil rights activist. Josephine was the first Black woman to enter France’s Panthéon mausoleum of outstanding historical figures. “Josephine Baker, the musical” tells the story of her life. We speak to the creator of the show Jean-Pierre Hadida, as well as Shaïna Pronzola, who plays Josephine.
