Fundora Vs. Thurman Nonetheless With out A Rescheduled Date

Sebastian Fundora’s next title defense of his WBC junior middleweight belt against Keith Thurman remains without a confirmed rescheduled date.

The bout was initially scheduled for October 25, 2025, but was postponed after Fundora suffered a left-hand contusion in training. January 24 or January 31 in Las Vegas has been discussed as a possible replacement date, though no decision has been finalized. The timing will depend on Fundora receiving medical clearance on the injured hand.

Fundora last fought in July, when he stopped Tim Tszyu in the seventh round of their rematch. The win marked his first successful defense of the WBC 154-pound title.

Thurman, 37, has fought sparingly in recent years. Thurman, 37, has fought infrequently in recent years, with long gaps between appearances. His most recent outing came against Brock Jarvis, a lower-tier opponent, following an extended layoff.

The proposed matchup has drawn criticism from some fans, who have questioned Thurman’s inactivity and the timing of the fight. Others have pointed to WBC interim titleholder Vergil Ortiz Jr. and IBF champion Bakhram Muratazaliev as alternative opponents who remain unaddressed.

No alternate opponent has been announced, and the Fundora–Thurman fight remains unresolved pending medical clearance and final scheduling.
