Ryan Garcia Says Haneys Want Him After Devin Beating

The rematch, Garcia-Haney, is one that they both want, but it’s going to have to wait until after Ryan’s fight with WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios in February.

“The Haney’s are always going to need me. I put an a** whooping like he stole something. They call him ‘Deebo Dev.’ Well, I’m ‘Ice Cube,’” said Ryan Garcia to Brian Custer’s channel, talking about Devin and Bill Haney.

The rematch with Ryan Garcia is the biggest fight for Haney in 2026. No one else can bring Devin the same kind of payday. Besides money, Devin needs to avenge his 2024 loss to Garcia. The memory of how he beat him is firmly etched in fans’ minds.

“I went and beat the bully up. He ain’t a bully. Devin Haney has the pitch of Michael Jackson. I put an a** whooping on him,” said Ryan. “He’s got to live with that a** whooping. His jaw was sideways. Everything was crazy. I even made his mom faint in the stands when I dropped him.”

Haney’s defeat against Ryan was a bad one. Even though the New York State Athletic Commission later changed the result to a no-contest, he still got dominated. That was the true result that anyone cares about.

“You’re not worried about me, but that video lives forever. I’m not worried about him. We’re both not worried about each other. I’m going to come run up these belts, and guess what? When they want that money, who are they going to be calling? Me. That’s the facts of the matter,” said Ryan, reacting to Bill Haney saying, “I’m not interested in Ryan.”

Haney must get the rematch with Ryan done before either of them suffers defeats. Haney hasn’t looked good in either of his two fights since that fight. He held all night in his fight against Brian Norman Jr., and resembled a track athlete in his fight last May against Jose Ramirez.
